Cancelling Rocket Resume, the details

Rocket Resume Refunds, Charges, and What to Do When Cancelling Goes Wrong

This is the detail page behind the short guide to cancelling Rocket Resume. It covers the two cancellation routes the Terms accept, how to save your files first, the trial and renewal prices, the 14-day refund rule and what applies after it, and the three problems people run into when a renewal has already gone through.

Free account for downloads. No credit card. No watermark.

Quick answer

Where to cancel
From the settings page, or in writing to [email protected]. The Terms accept both, and the support page adds chat and a phone line, 1 (888) 586-8975.
Access after cancelling
Rocket Resume does not publish how long documents stay open after a cancellation, so treat the end of the paid period as the deadline for downloads.
Refund policy
The introductory charge is fully refundable for up to 14 days. Later charges are refunded at Rocket Resume's discretion, and the Terms say you can always ask.

Before you cancel, save your resume

Rocket Resume keeps resumes inside the account, and the support page only describes cancelling or suspending it, so download before you cancel rather than after.

Keep the content without keeping the subscription

SmoothApply imports a PDF, a DOCX file, or a photo of a printed resume and makes it editable again, with free PDF, DOCX, and TXT downloads and no watermark once you create a free account. See the Rocket Resume alternative for the full comparison.

What you are charged if you do not cancel

Rocket Resume shows its prices at checkout rather than on a public pricing page. The figures below are from ResumeGenius's review, updated February 23, 2026, and the renewal rules are from the Terms of Service updated August 8, 2026.

Plan Charge Then
14-day trial $1.95 Renews at $34.95 every month
30-day trial $5.95 Renews at $71.40 every year
Membership terms in the Terms monthly, 4-week, weekly or annual Each renews on its own cycle until you cancel
Free $0 Build and preview; downloads require a plan

Section 3.3 says a trial "will automatically join the paid membership you have chosen at the end of the Trial Offer" (Terms of Service).

Prices reported by ResumeGenius may differ from what your checkout showed; the receipt email is the figure that applies (ResumeGenius).

Common problems

Three situations come up again and again in refund requests about resume-builder trials, and the Rocket Resume Terms answer each one.

"The trial converted and I was charged $34.95"

That is the design of the trial: section 3.4 says fees renew "unless and until you notify us that you want to cancel". Cancel from settings or by email, then ask for a refund; after the 14-day window it is discretionary, but the Terms say you can always request one.

"I asked for a refund and was told no"

Inside 14 days of the introductory charge a full refund is written into section 3.2. Quote it in your email. Outside that window, ask once more in writing and keep the thread; the discretionary clause leaves room for a partial refund.

"Can I just charge it back?"

Section 3.7 asks you to raise the charge with Rocket Resume first and not to reject the card charge before making "a reasonable attempt at resolving the matter directly". A dated email to [email protected] is that attempt.

More questions

Is there a Rocket Resume phone number?
Yes. The support page lists 1 (888) 586-8975, live chat, and [email protected] (support page).
What happens to my resume after I cancel Rocket Resume?
The support page describes two ways to cancel or suspend an account but does not say how long documents stay available afterwards. Download your PDF or Word file before the paid period ends, or import it into a free builder so it stays editable.
Can I just dispute the charge with my card?
The Terms ask you not to. Section 3.7 says you agree to raise concerns about charges with Rocket Resume first and "not to cancel or reject any credit card or third-party payment processing charges unless you have made a reasonable attempt at resolving the matter directly" (Terms of Service). Email support, keep the thread, then escalate if there is no answer.
