Build my resumeQuick answers
Is there a truly free resume builder with no hidden charges?
Yes. SmoothApply's free plan is $0 with no time limit. Build in the browser without an account; a free account (email only, no card) saves up to 20 resumes and downloads PDF, DOCX and TXT without limits or watermarks. The only paid feature is unlimited AI; downloads never depend on it.
Do I need a credit card to download my resume from SmoothApply?
No. Downloads require a free account, not a payment method. There is no trial to start and nothing to cancel later; the optional $2.95 trial only adds unlimited AI credits.
Does the free PDF download have a watermark?
No. Free PDF and DOCX downloads from SmoothApply are identical to paid ones. Some builders brand free files or allow only plain text; the table above shows which, as of September 2026, with source links.
