Quick answers

Is Resume.io free to download?
Partly. As of September 2026, the Resume.io pricing page lists the free plan as one resume and one cover letter with downloads only in TXT format, while a Resume.io help article says the free plan can also download a PDF in the Vancouver template only. Every other template, plus DOCX export, requires the paid plan. SmoothApply lets you download PDF and DOCX for free, with no watermark, once you create a free account.
Does Resume.io charge after the free trial?
Yes. As of September 2026, the Resume.io pricing page says the $2.95 trial lasts 7 days and then auto-renews to $29.95 billed every 4 weeks, and the Resume.io help center confirms the trial converts into a subscription automatically if it is not cancelled within the trial period. To avoid the charge you need to cancel before the 7 days end.
How do I cancel my Resume.io subscription?
As of September 2026, the Resume.io help center says to log in, open Account Settings from your profile menu, click the downgrade option at the top of the page, and then confirm the cancellation from the email Resume.io sends you. There is also a public cancel page where you enter your signup email and click Cancel Subscription. Premium access continues until the end of the paid term. We keep a step by step guide at How to cancel Resume.io.
