Cancelling Kickresume, the details

Kickresume Refunds, Charges, and What to Do When Cancelling Goes Wrong

This is the detail page behind the short guide to cancelling Kickresume. It covers how the subscription ends and what access you keep, how to save your files first, every Premium price, the single refund case in the Terms, and the complaints reviewers repeat.

Free account for downloads. No credit card. No watermark.

Quick answer

Where to cancel
Turn auto-renew off in your account, or send a termination notice to [email protected]. The Terms allow both, and Kickresume does not publish the in-app menu path, as of September 2026 (Terms of Use).
Access after cancelling
Premium runs until the last paid period expires. Closing the account starts a 30-day window in which you can renew access; after that the account and data are erased (Terms of Use).
Refund policy
Subscriptions are non-returnable and no refund is paid on the remaining period. A new user may get a 14-day money-back guarantee once, by asking support (Terms of Use).

Before you cancel, save your resume

Kickresume does not lock documents the moment you cancel, but Premium templates and features stop when the paid period ends, and a closed account is erased after 30 days, as of September 2026 (Terms of Use).

Keep the content without keeping the subscription

SmoothApply imports a PDF, a DOCX file, or a photo of a printed resume and makes it editable again, with free PDF, DOCX, and TXT downloads and no watermark once you create a free account. See the Kickresume alternative for the full comparison.

What you are charged if you do not cancel

Kickresume lists a free plan and three Premium terms on its pricing page as of September 2026, and the Terms of Use describe how each renews (pricing, Terms of Use).

Plan Charge Then
Premium Monthly $24 Renews for another 30 days
Premium Quarterly $54 every 3 months, $18 a month Renews for another 90 days
Premium Yearly $96 a year, $8 a month Renews for another year
Free $0 No charge; 4 templates, unlimited downloads

There is no trial: the "Try for free" button leads to the free plan, so the first Premium charge is the full plan price (pricing).

The help center still quoted older prices of $19, $13 and $7 a month on September 8, 2026; the pricing page and checkout are the current figures (help center).

Common problems

Kickresume holds a 4.6 TrustScore from 3,837 Trustpilot reviews, 4% one-star, as of September 2026 (Trustpilot). The low ratings repeat three themes.

"I was billed again and did not expect it"

Auto-renew is on by default for every paid term. The Terms put the responsibility on the user to turn it off or send notice before the period ends (Terms of Use).

"I asked for a refund and was told no"

The only refund case is the one-time 14-day guarantee for new users. A second subscription, or a request after 14 days, falls under the non-returnable clause (Terms of Use). A Kickresume reply on Trustpilot in December 2025 described the guarantee as 15 days, "no questions asked", so ask even if you are on day 15 (Trustpilot).

"The AI limit ran out" and "the Word file is plain text"

Premium AI credits reset each cycle and Kickresume says they allow dozens of resumes a month; the Word export drops the designed layout. Neither is a billing problem, but both drive the cancellations reviewers describe (one-star reviews, two-star reviews).

A free alternative for the next resume

If you only ever needed one resume, SmoothApply is a free resume builder with unlimited PDF and DOCX downloads and no watermark. All 93 templates are on the free plan, and a free account is all it takes to download. The only paid extra is unlimited AI writing, which never touches the download button.

More questions

How much does Kickresume charge?
As of September 2026 the pricing page lists Premium at $24 billed monthly, $54 billed every 3 months, or $96 billed yearly. The free plan gives 4 resume templates with unlimited downloads and no watermark (pricing).
Is there a Kickresume phone number?
No published one. The Terms give [email protected] as the contact, and the company is Kickresume s.r.o. in the Slovak Republic (Terms of Use).
Does the Word export from Kickresume keep the layout?
Reviewers say the Word file is plain text rather than the designed layout, which is a common two-star complaint on Trustpilot (Trustpilot, two-star filter). If you need an editable DOCX that looks like the PDF, import the PDF into a builder that rebuilds it.
