The free plan is real, but narrow. As of September 2026 Basic Access covers the builder, expert-written content suggestions, a Bold.pro profile, and unlimited TXT downloads. PDF and Word downloads, the designed templates, ResumeCheck feedback, interview tools, and webinars carry a lock icon in the free column (pricing page).
The paid entry point is 14-Day Premium Access at $2.95. The pricing page says: "After 14 days, auto-renews at $23.95 billed every 4 weeks. Cancel anytime." Four weeks is shorter than a calendar month, so charges land more often than a monthly plan's (as of September 2026, source). The annual option is 1-Year Premium Access at $95.40 up front, shown as $7.95 per month, renewing each year. The iOS app lists a $23.95 monthly and a $71.90 yearly subscription (as of September 2026, App Store listing).
Refunds have a window: "Request a refund within 14 days of subscribing to premium access to qualify," per the pricing page. The live Terms of Use could not be loaded when we checked; an archived copy dated December 15, 2020 says the provider "does not guarantee refunds after trials are expired" (archived terms). Charges appear on statements as MYPERFECTRESUME.COM, MYPERFECTRESUME, or BLD*MYPERFECTRESUME (as of September 2026, contact page).
The complaints follow the billing model rather than the builder. On Trustpilot, as of September 2026, MyPerfectResume holds a 4.6 TrustScore from 19,226 reviews, 80% five-star and 6% one-star; the one-star reviews cluster on charges after the $2.95 trial, charges after a cancellation, and partial refunds (Trustpilot). The Better Business Bureau profile for parent company Bold LLC shows 247 complaints closed in the last 3 years and 77 in the last 12 months, with the same themes (as of September 2026, BBB). The company's standard App Store reply is that the trial auto-renews to monthly access until the subscriber cancels, and that this is disclosed before, during, and after purchase.

What you can take with you depends on whether your MyPerfectResume plan is still active.
With Premium Access active, download your resume as Word or PDF; both are part of the paid plan as of September 2026 (pricing page). On the free plan, or after premium lapses, only a .txt version is available; the words survive but the template does not (as of September 2026, contact page).
Open /resume-builder/?start=import and upload the PDF or DOCX; a photo of a printed resume also works. If all you have is the TXT file, paste each section into the content panel.
To start clean, /resume-builder/?start=examples opens an occupation example you can overwrite with your own details, and /resume-builder/?start=template starts from a blank template.
Create a free account, download PDF or DOCX, and run the file through the ATS checker.
