This is the detail page behind the short guide to cancelling MyPerfectResume. It covers where to cancel and what access you keep, how to save your resume first, exactly what MyPerfectResume charges, its refund terms, and the common problems people hit.
Free account for downloads. No credit card. No watermark.
What you can export depends on whether premium is still active (pricing page, as of September 2026):
Since the company's pages do not confirm that access continues to the end of a paid period, download first and cancel second. To keep editing without a subscription, bring the file into SmoothApply through Import a resume. It accepts a PDF, a DOCX, or a photo of a printed resume and lets you apply any of 93 templates; PDF and DOCX downloads are free with no watermark (a free account is required, no card). If you only have a PDF and want an editable file, see convert a resume PDF to Word; for a version to paste into application forms, see resume to plain text.
US prices from the MyPerfectResume pricing page, as of September 2026:
| Plan | First charge | Then | How often |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14-Day Premium Access | $2.95 | $23.95 | Every 4 weeks, starting after day 14 |
| 1-Year Premium Access | $95.40 up-front (shown as $7.95/month) | Renews automatically | Each year |
"Every 4 weeks" is not "monthly": a 4-week cycle repeats 13 times in 52 weeks, one more charge a year than a monthly plan. No lifetime or one-time purchase is offered (pricing page, as of September 2026). UK visitors are served by the sister brand MyPerfectCV, which lists £2.95 for 14 days, then £16.95 every 4 weeks (MyPerfectCV pricing, as of September 2026).
Most public reviews are positive: Trustpilot shows 4.6 out of 5 across 19,226 reviews, with 6% one-star (Trustpilot, as of September 2026). The one-star reviews repeat a few billing stories.
Some one-star Trustpilot reviews say the option was not in settings; one from August 24, 2026 reads "I had to email and got it done" (Trustpilot, as of September 2026). If Subscriptions shows no Cancel Subscription button, go straight to phone, chat, or a secure message; the Terms of Use treat contacting customer service as an equally valid route.
This is the most repeated complaint. A featured App Store review is titled "CANNOT CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION" (App Store, as of September 2026), and a Reddit post from November 2024 claims six months of charges after cancelling. The common thread is a cancellation attempt with no confirmation number. If you never received one, cancel again through a second channel and get the number this time.
Better Business Bureau complaints against Bold LLC, the parent company, describe finding no email saying charges would continue after the trial, and prorated rather than full refunds afterward; the profile shows 247 complaints closed in the last three years (BBB, as of September 2026). The company's standard App Store reply is that auto-renewal is disclosed before, during, and after purchase. Either way, set a phone reminder for day 12 of the trial and ask for any refund inside the 14-day window.
SmoothApply is a free resume builder where PDF and DOCX downloads cost $0, carry no watermark, and never sit behind a trial. You get 93 templates, full design control, a free cover letter builder, and a free job tracker. The only paid feature is unlimited AI writing ($2.95 for 14 days, then $19.95 a month), and that plan cancels from account settings without contacting anyone, with access kept to the end of the billing period. Import your MyPerfectResume file and keep going, or read the MyPerfectResume alternative comparison first.
