This is the detail page behind our Novoresume alternative comparison. Everything below was read from novoresume.com on September 3, 2026 and is linked to its source. If you only want the short version: Basic is free with one single-page PDF that carries a footer, and Premium is a one-time payment of $21.99 for a month, $39.99 for 3 months, or $149.99 for 12, plus tax.
Free account for downloads. No credit card. No watermark.
As of September 2026 the pricing page lists three Premium options, all one-time payments in US dollars: $21.99 for one month, $39.99 for three months, and $149.99 for twelve months, with VAT or tax added at checkout. No lifetime plan and no subscription: the pricing FAQ says you will not be charged automatically, and the help center says no card details are stored and the account reverts to Basic when Premium ends (pricing page, help center).
The free Basic plan is the confusing part. The pricing page calls it Basic Free Unlimited; the homepage calls the same plan Basic Free 7 Days; the help center says Basic access is a limited free period after which downloading requires Premium. On Trustpilot, Novoresume confirmed on June 8, 2026 that Basic had become a 7-day window, and a co-founder wrote on August 18, 2026 that the no-time-limit plan was back for new users and accounts migrated to Novoresume V2. As of September 3, 2026 the homepage still shows 7 days, so treat the limit as unsettled (homepage, Trustpilot replies).
Either way, the free download is narrow: one document, one page, 8 templates, no cover letter, no AI Assistant. A resume that uses any Premium feature cannot be downloaded on Basic until you swap it back (help center), and the company calls the free file a single-page PDF with a small Novoresume footer (company reply, May 20, 2026).
Refunds cover 14 days after your first upgrade only, by email to [email protected] or the in-app Support Chat; no self-serve refund button is documented (help center). Once Premium expires, documents using Premium features cannot be downloaded again until you remove those features or buy Premium again. Some 1-star Trustpilot reviews describe paying a second time to re-download a resume; the overall score is 4.3 out of 5 from 1,596 reviews, with 6 percent at 1 star (Trustpilot, 1-star filter).
Everything below is on the $0 plan. A free account is needed to save and download; no card, no trial, no time window.
The only paid item is unlimited AI: $2.95 for a 14-day trial, then $19.95 per month, cancelled from account settings with access kept to the end of the billing period. It never gates downloads or templates. Details on the pricing page.

Premium is a single charge with no renewal (as of September 2026, source). SmoothApply's downloads are free, but unlimited AI is a monthly plan. For a month of heavy AI help with no recurring charge, Novoresume's $21.99 month is the cleaner option.
The homepage lists 72 documents of up to 10 pages each on Premium (as of September 2026, source). SmoothApply saves up to 20 resumes per account, enough for most job searches but not a large CV library.
Novoresume's 16 templates, 74 color themes, and 12 matching cover letter designs have a recognizable style (as of September 2026, source). If you want that exact look, no one else reproduces it.
SmoothApply is not affiliated with Novoresume. Prices and policies were checked on September 3, 2026 from the linked sources and may change.
