This is the detail page behind the short guide to cancelling LiveCareer. It covers where to cancel and what access you keep, how to save your resume first, exactly what LiveCareer charges, its refund terms, and the common problems people hit.
Free account for downloads. No credit card. No watermark.
Once the subscription ends, your documents stay viewable and editable, but printing, downloading, and sharing are switched off, as of September 2026 (Terms of Use). Export options by plan:
SmoothApply imports a PDF, a DOCX file, or a photo of a printed resume and makes it editable again, with free PDF, DOCX, and TXT downloads and no watermark once you create a free account. See also converting a resume PDF to Word and the plain-text resume guide.
Import your resume, freeLiveCareer's US pricing page, read on September 3, 2026, lists three plans, and the Terms say a subscription renews "until you terminate the contract" (LiveCareer pricing, Terms of Use).
| Plan | Up-front | Then |
|---|---|---|
| 14-Day Premium Access | $2.95 for 14 days | $23.95 every four weeks, auto-renews until cancelled |
| Annual Premium Access | $71.40, advertised as $5.95/month | Auto-renews each year |
| Basic Access (free) | $0 | No recurring charge; downloads limited to TXT |
LiveCareer calls the $23.95 plan monthly, but its billing FAQ says "you will be billed every four weeks from the date of your initial purchase", as of September 2026 (LiveCareer pricing). A 52-week year holds 13 four-week periods, so that is 13 charges rather than 12 (13 x $23.95 = $311.35). No lifetime or one-time purchase is listed.
Prices vary by country: the UK site showed £1.95, then £19.85 every four weeks, or £83.40 a year (Wayback capture of August 26, 2026, checked September 2026). This page uses the US figures.
LiveCareer holds a TrustScore of 4.3 from 23,402 Trustpilot reviews, 65% five-star and 19% one-star, as of September 2026 (Trustpilot). Five-star reviews praise the builder; one-star reviews are mostly about billing and cancelling.
Reviewers say the trial converted without a reminder they noticed, and some believed the $2.95 was a one-time payment, as of September 2026 (Trustpilot, PissedConsumer). The BBB profile for Bold LLC, LiveCareer's parent company, shows 247 complaints closed in three years, many about trials converting to recurring $23.95 charges, as of September 2026 (BBB, Bold LLC). A 2024 r/resumes comment describes a relative who signed up "thinking it was just $3" and was later charged over $100 (Reddit). Cancel first so the four-week clock stops, then ask about a refund.
LiveCareer's FAQ still describes the Subscription page as the place to find "the appropriate phone number and email address you should contact", while its Trustpilot replies describe a Cancel Subscription button on that page, as of September 2026 (LiveCareer FAQ, Trustpilot). A ComplaintsBoard report from September 2023 said the button appeared greyed out while Keep My Subscription was selectable (ComplaintsBoard). If it does not work, use chat or phone and insist on a cancellation number.
ComplaintsBoard lists 127 complaints, 39% resolved, with charges after cancelling as a main theme, as of September 2026 (ComplaintsBoard). Under the Terms, the cancellation number is the confirmation, so without one LiveCareer may not have registered the request (Terms of Use). A BBB complaint from July 31, 2026 says the customer could not reach anyone on the listed phone number (BBB, Bold LLC), so keep written records. Another concerns a $23.95 charge that went unnoticed for about two years (BBB, LiveCareer Ltd.); if you are not sure you ever cancelled, check the Subscription page today.
